My Story

Most of you who know me know im slightly crazy and always do spontaneous things, from boxing (which really wasnt my thing 🥴) to fancy dress colour run (an i dont run) but ill have a go at anything that helps raise money for amazing charities and help people in anyway possible.

I lost my mum in 2008 to lung cancer after a long 5yrs of fighting this horrible disease. During that time at many hospital & chemo appointments i witnessed the strength an determination of those battling life threatening illnesses an decided if i could help in anyway i could i would.

My mum had a zest for life and loved nothing more than getting dressed up, being with her friends and family and listening to live bands also singing and dancing to her favourite songs from Shain Twain, Cher, Michael Buble plus many more. She always loved to dance and sing around the house with the kids and just enjoy every moment she could.

Everyday mattered to her an even more so when she became ill, the dark side of cancer eventually became too much and sadly we lost her on 31st May 2008.

Life was never the same but she was a strong woman who in the toughest times always got up, dusted herself off, refocused an carried on. I had no choice but to be like my mum and do the same, so i challenged myself to try things i would never usually do. One of those was to go to a street dance class, so at aged 31 i went to my first class (i dragged my brother along for support). It was the best feeling in the world, the music and feeling happy when dancing took me back to times with my mum and i loved every second.

I know she would love me taking part in this and would be my biggest cheerleader at the side, so this one is for you Mum, my best friend, my angel.
If i can raise any amount that helps make someones final moments more comfortable and create cherished memories with loved ones it will be all worthwhile. I will be eternally grateful, so dig deep and any amount is welcomed and appreciated.

I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart, love 'n' hugs Sheena x x x
