Strictly Glitter Ball 2025 (Contestants)
Julie Currie
My Story
I have entered this years Strictly Glitter Ball to help raise vital funds for Willowbrook Hospice.
In April 2022, we sadly lost my lovely brother in law Terry Currie.
Terry spent his final days in a hospice setting, during that time, I witnessed first hand the amazing work, service and care that hospice's provide, not just for the patient but also for all the family.
As a proud employee of Willowbrook Hospice, I know how hard we work collectively to raise funds to support the day to day running costs of the hospice and I wanted to do something to help.
On a personal note, taking part in a dancing competition, means that I have stepped right out of my comfort zone.
The last time I did any sort of dancing class was about 45 years ago, when I did morris dancing.
Since surgery in 2023, my fitness has been massively affected. This challenge will give me a focus to exercise and dance regularly, which should help me improve my fitness level.
Thank you in advance for supporting me and supporting Willowbrook Hospice.
Willowbrook Hospice provides FREE specialist care to people living with life limiting illnesses and their families in the communities of St Helens & Knowsley. Its costs over £5 million to run the Hospice each year and only 1/3rd of this is provided by Government Funding. The remaining 2/3rds is dependent on our Fundraising events & campaigns and the amazing people within our local communities.
Willowbrook Hospice is a registered charity, which was built and is supported in the main by the generous donations of the local people.
