My Story

Dancing has always been a passion of mine and I've always dreamt of dancing on strictly as if a St Helen's girl born and bred would be able to dance on strictly!!  

I'd heard about the Willowbrook Glitter Ball a few years ago and always talked about applying to be a contestant but never got round to it. As I was made redundant from a charity last year and always keen to volunteer and help others I'd been looking for a challenge as I approach 50 to give back to charity once more.

When I saw the entries open for glitter ball for Willowbrook this year, I knew I had to be part of it.  Knowing that I can do something I've dreamt of whilst raising much needed funds for an amazing St Helen's charity well it's a no brainer!

I approached my employer PPSL District Heating Ltd who are fully supporting me with flexible working to attend dance lessons and also sponsoring me and I have a lovely local St Helens business who are sponsoring me as a dancer too.

I'm hoping this experience will reignite my love of dance and music, challenge me to learn something new, support an amazing charity and put some smiles on faces at the event at Saints Stadium on 25th October.

Willowbrook Hospice provides incredible care and support to individuals and families during some of life’s most challenging moments. Their work is filled with kindness, dignity, and unwavering dedication. By taking part in this competition, I’m not just stepping onto the dance floor—I’m stepping up to help make a difference.

Every spin, every step, every moment on that dance floor is a tribute to the amazing people at Willowbrook and the lives they touch. This is more than just a dance—it's a way to show our gratitude, to celebrate life, and to contribute to a cause that truly matters.

So, with every beat of the music and every move I make, I dance for them. I dance for hope, for love, and for the incredible work of Willowbrook Hospice.
