My Story

I am raising money for willowbrook hospice on behalf of my granny, great grandma and mama marj! All three were cared for by the amazing staff at the hospice and this is my way of showing how much it's meant to me. Willowbrook Hospice provides FREE specialist care to people living with life limiting illnesses and their families in the communities of St Helens & Knowsley. Its costs over £5 million to run the Hospice each year and only 1/3rd of this is provided by Government Funding. The remaining 2/3rds is dependent on our Fundraising events & campaigns and the amazing people within our local communities.

Willowbrook Hospice is a registered charity, which was built and is supported in the main by the generous donations of the local people.

We aim to provide free specialist Palliative Care, to patients through the expertise of our multi professional team, to those who have need of it and are referred by their GP of Hospital Consultant.

The patient is the focus of our intention from the moment they arrive with us. The whole philosophy of Willowbrook Hospice centres on treating each individual patient as a whole person whose needs can best be met by discussion and consultation.

We aim to help each patient to live with dignity and to achieve and regain the best quality in their lives, where possible. We encourage patients and their families and carers to make informed choices and to take an active part in their care.
